The Portland Aerial Tram is an Urban aerial tramway located in Portland, Oregon. It transports commuters between the city’s South Waterfront district and the Oregon Health & Science University. It is one of only two urban aerial tramways in the United States; the other being New York City’s Roosevelt Island Tramway. The Portland Tram’s ride is 3 minutes long, travelling 1006 meter (3,300 feet) and gaining an elevation of 152 meters (500 feet). Rocky Mountain Lift Services was contracted out by Doppelmayr USA to supervise and provide technical advice for the slipping of the track ropes.
