Express Tram, Detroit International Airport

The ExpressTram system located at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport McNamara Terminal (DTW) Concourse A, runs indoors above the length of the concourse. Spanning nearly a mile from end-to-end, the ExpressTram consists of two trains running in a single lane with a bypass in the center. Two new Performa Haul Ropes, manufactured by the Swiss company Fatzer AG, were used to replace the existing ropes. In order to properly install these specialty ropes, Rocky Mountain Lift Services & Supplies Inc. was contracted out to preform the supervisory and consulting duties for the wire rope installation for this project.
